Teachers Gone Delirious

Teachers who can sniff out Winter Break =
Unpredictable Behavior
Thursday and Friday before Winter Break were early release days at school. Thursday was our scheduled Christmas party and Friday we were OUTTA there as soon as the last kid left. You have never seen a parking lot clear out so quickly. Back to Thursday- when all the little ones had left the building, all of the teachers got together for a nice little lunch catered from Uncle Julio’s, except we were shorted guacamole but that’s a whole ‘nother can of avocados.  We stuffed our faces in anticipation of our “surprise” activity. Oh, the activities. As if stuffing us full of fajitas was not enough, the office staff challenged each of our grade level teams to a Picture Scavenger Hunt. And whoa, did the game faces come out. You would’ve thought we were competing for a million dollars or better yet, another computer in our room.

The following pictures are proof that teachers who desperately need a break are extremely unpredictable and willing to do just about anything.  Fun times.

Picture Task #1:
Construct a Human Pyramid on the Playground with all members of your team.

BEHOLD: Our PLAYGROUND PYRAMID

Picture Task #2:
Spell out a Christmas phrase of your choice with Christmas items.

PEACE on EARTH
(You see it, right?)

Picture Task #3:
Recreate the manger scene.

Shepherds and Wise Men. Because we herd children all day and we know everything.  Thank you baby (5-yr-old) Grayson.  Poor guy had no clue what was going on except that his mother was loosing her mind.

Picture Task #4:
Squeeze your entire team in a very small space.

OMG! We FIT!
Yes, there are FOUR second grade teachers stuffed in the closet.  It took WAY longer to get OUT than it did to get IN.  Talk about some claustrophobia.

Picture Task #4:
Entire Team sits in “Santa’s” lap. One team member dresses as Santa. Rest of team sits on “Santa’s” lap in one chair.

There are no words to describe this picture.

Picture Task #5:
Recreate the famous flagpole scene from the movie "A Christmas Story".

"YOU'LL SHOOT YOUR EYE OUT!"
(oh, wait, right movie, wrong scene.)
Lyndsay clearly doesn't think that putting your tongue on a flagpole is such a good idea.  Obviously, good ideas were NOT being had that day.

Picture Task #6:
Paint your faces as either a gingerbread man, Santa Clause or a snowman.

"HO" doesn't quite translate accurately in a picture--
as Jordan and I are demonstrating so well.

Although, our second grade team didn't win the contest, we had a jovial time participating with some very fabulous door prizes that I re-gifted.  You'll neeevvveeerrr know! :) This was one of the best Christmas parties I have ever been to EXCEPT the time when my kindergarten team did a skit as Spartan cheerleaders. I SO have to find that video and post it…
